My life since 1965!
I attended UWEC before transfering to UW Madison in 1968.
I graduated from UW Madison in 1971 with a Pharmacy degree. I passed my National Boards in the same year in both Wisconsin and North Dakota. I did my year intenship with the Prescription Pharmacy in Madison, WI. I then worked as a Pharmacist at Madison General Hospital for two years before returning to Eau Claire, which I initially said I would never do, to work at Sacred Heart Hospital. Two years later I was offered a job at Northern Center for the Developmentally Disabled where I practiced Pharmacy for ten years. It was during this time that I found the love of my life, Jan (Larson) Howe and married August 5th 1983. At this time we both had two daughters each. Prior to this time I was married and divorced from Pam Ostrom with whom I had two children. Jan came into the marrage with Carrie and Alicia and I had my two daughters, Heidi and Krisiti. (Ran my first and only marathon - Grandma's in Duluth 4:03)
Jan and I share a love of the outdoors which we shared and tried to instill in our daughters. Hiking in the mountains, biking, kayaking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and down hill skiing with Ron Scott and other friends is an important of our family's life.

In 2011, I and my two friends, Marv Franson and Gretchen Lindgren, where chosen to represent the 13th century Birkebeiners in the American Birkie ski marathon held in Hayward ,WI. We skied the entire 55 kilometers (34 miles) in 13th century attire on wooden skis. We had a ball and enjoyed every kilometer of the race!
